California Energy Commission staff will conduct a public workshop to discuss the staff report, California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Projections: 2017-2025, Future Infrastructure Needs for Reaching the State’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Deployment Goals. This report analyzes plug-in electric vehicle infrastructure needs (for both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) in California from 2017 to 2025. Using 2010-2012 California Household Travel Survey data and light-duty vehicle deployment scenarios, the analysis addresses two primary objectives: 1) enable travel for battery-electric vehicles and 2) maximize electric vehicle miles traveled for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The proposed infrastructure solutions can promote market growth in support of Governor Edmund G. Brown’s Executive Order B-48-18, which calls for the construction and installation of 250,000 zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) chargers, including 10,000 direct current fast chargers, by 2025.
Commissioners or their staff may attend and participate in the workshop.
