2008 Building Energy Efficiency Standards

The following list of energy analysis computer programs includes all Alternative Calculation Methods approved by the California Energy Commission. These programs are in accordance with the California Code of Regulations: Title 24, Part I, Article I, Section 10-109 (2008 Standards)

The individual programs are listed below under specific categories:

2008 STANDARDS - (Mandatory compliance on and after January 1, 2010)

These are the only programs that should be used under the performance approach (energy budget) method of compliance for the 2008 standards.

eQuest v3.64 and D2 Comply v3.64
eQuest v3.64 and D2 Comply v3.64 (dated July 29, 2010) were approved on August 25, 2010, for performing non-residential compliance with one exception as below.

For showing compliance of Domestic Hot Water Use (DHW) in High-rise Residential, Hotel, and Motel Buildings, please use other approved compliance tools as shown in the tabulations under Residential Buildings, 2008 Standards or Nonresidential Buildings, 2008 Standards. A detailed description of this exception is being prepared and will be posted here.
